My first morning in Milan and a humorous start at Moschino where polka dots were aplenty, adorning everything from jackets to bangles and headscarves.

A contrast in textures was the theme of Eugene Souleiman's hair, slicked gel- soaked heads (thanks to a plethora of Wella goodies) ending in frothy birds' nest buns then wrapped in softly draped scarves gave a young-meets-old feel that worked well with the tongue-in-cheek collection.

Make-up was altogether more abstract with Amazonian desert women  the brief. Translated this called for heavy contouring of a dusty terracotta powder in a V shape across lids and temples and a coat of camel toned lipstick to finish. Despite a flat, monochromatic effect, when paired with the jaunty headscarves it was the perfect dose of Italian chic.
