The ELLE beauty desk is treats central – we’re not ones to shy away from a Laduree macaroon or giant chocolate buttons.

But sometimes we need to be a little more virtuous so it’s a relief to know there are options out there.Take the Tea-Tox, recently launched at Bam-Bou a London favourite for south-east asian food. It’s an uber healthy take on an afternoon tea and features quite the most delicious sweet things we’ve tasted in a long time: known as Khong-Wan. I went crazy for the little lemongrass granita and crumbly caraway seed cake. Accompanied by health-giving teas (try the giant unfurling tea buds which promise to lower cholesterol and strengthen the immune system thanks to the sky-high levels of antioxidants) you come away satisfied and safe in the knowledge you’ve done something good to your insides and waistline. Maybe not quite the calorie-free a pick-me-up as lipstick – but it’s close.
