Ladies (and gents) I have news. Heaven does exist. Ive just returned from testing the new Clarins TriActive Facial in the gorgeous skin spa in Selfridges and cannot even begin to find the words to describe how, well, heavenly it was. Before the treatment began (you can choose one of six different variations) the therapist examined my skin by touch, gently squeezing and generally having a very thorough investigate (the most sensible way I know of getting a good look at what skin needs).
The hour and twenty minutes that followed were pure and utter bliss as I lay on a reclining massage chair (the kind that you try out in a department store for five minutes and never want to get out of) and had the most comprehensive cleanse and exfoliation I think my skin has ever seen. My face, neck and shoulders were given a deep massage which then carried through to my hands and feet. So fluid was it that when my eyes were closed it felt like hands were massaging me from twenty different directions at once.
Masks, concentrates and oils which were chosen specifically to address my three biggest skin concerns were then applied although I have to admit at this point it all became a little hazy my therapists incredibly soothing touch meant I may or may not have dropped off and had a little snooze... All I know is that once the time was up I emerged like a newborn into the hustle and bustle of Selfridges blinking in the bright lights and with skin to rival a babys plump, even-toned and feather-soft. Its not available until 30th August (exclusive to Selfridges then nationwide at Clarins counters) but I strongly urge you to put the date in your diary and try it as soon as you can, this is one you will not want to miss.
