Take Margot Robbie for instance. No safe-playing demure beauty look for her. no, Robbie went for three standard-defying trends in one for her Oscars debut. First, the silky chocolate brown hair. Most of the brunettes were lighter this year, with Jessica Biel and Jennifer Garner flying the flag for California-hued chestnut. but Margot who is newly dark, showcased hers in a shiny block of cascading waves that made it attention grabbing. Then the darker than dark lip. Most were neutral, a couple of bright or medium reds peppered here and there, but Margot went vampy deep-winter rouge, and god was it striking. It's the bravest of the brave who try out a clean eye trend in real life - let alone on the red carpet, but it was this that finished it off for me. Way to let the look become effortlessly cool, rather than over-done or contrived. Margot made her mark on the red carpet with her grooming rather than her attire, and I can't wait to see what she pulls out of the bag for the next one.
