Festival beauty: part 2

If you’re heading off to one of the many summer festivals in the UK still ahead here’s a little something to think about to liven up the obligatory outfit of denim shorts, wellies and straw hat: body art. At the recent Isle of Wight festival it was the trend to be working with more festival-goers than I could count, sporting some kind of decorative ink. Backstage in the MAC Cosmetics VIP tent I watched in awe as the incredibly talented MAC Make-up artist Carly Utting got to work creating all manner of artwork from fire bursts (seen here on Senior Artist Neil Young) to agiant peacock that snaked up the back of one lucky girl’s leg. For body art beginners try using MAC’s Eye Kohls and Technakohls which have good nibs for precision drawing but for those a little more experienced at free hand art you can’t beat the staying power and quality of MAC Pro’s Chromalines and Paintsticks (essential brushes for this are #188 and #210). Festivals being festivals it’s all about getting involved (don’t forget it washes off so be as adventurous as you like), so get creative and don’t forget to pack your paints alongside your waterproofs.
