Festival beauty: part 1

By Georgia Collins

The general rule for festival beauty is anything goes and that was certainly true at the recent Isle of Wight festival. Happily enconsced in MAC's VIP tent backstage we spotted a whole host of celeb looks to inspire - take note if you’re headed to a Glasto this weekend. If lips are your thing follow Florence’s lead and opt for a striking berry shade, the matte colour and otherwise nude face is so AW10. If it’s all about eyes there was model Erin O’Connor sporting futuristic silver or if you want to go OTT you could always take inspiration from Paloma Faith who opted for jewelled brows, winged liner, flushed cheeks and crimson lips. That spells festival fabulous in our book.

Florence Welch

Deep burgundy is a hot colour for the new season. Pair with a slick of black mascara to balance your face but ensure you prep your lips first, ‘a lip primer like MAC’s Prep+Prime Lip is essential’ says make-up artist Cher Webb, ‘it blocks any gaps in your lips so the colour stays truer for longer’.

If you’re opting for bold liner finish the look with a set of false lashes (MAC’s number 36 lashes are really natural) to really open your eyes. These lashes proved so popular at the festival that the team’s entire supply ran out.

Paloma Faith

Red lips never fail to make a statement and add an edge to any outfit. If you’re not feeling as brave as Paloma pair a cherry red shade like MAC’s Lipstick in Lady Danger with matte skin and black mascara.
