"I had an enforced 7 day Power Plate break due to work and play commitments so I felt sheepish when I returned on Saturday. Squeezing three 30 minute windows in your weekly schedule shouldnt be difficult, but it was one of those weeks So I threw myself in to this class with great gusto.
We did lots of squats, push-ups and dips and unlike previous sessions, I felt the burn. Plus, for the first time, there were others in the class too so I had an (unhealthy) competitive attitude to my work out. As a result, I ate my 65 year-old neighbour up for breakfast. Yeah!
Im also lathering on my Thalgo anti-cellulite creams too. Unlike most treatment products of this nature, they are very moisturising and a good base for fake tan. Its going to be tricky to work out if theyre actually doing any toning or smoothing though.
Following the burn on Saturday I have been aching all over. I cant believe it. Just half an hour and Im sore like that of an hour weights class. My boyfriend says my legs look slimmer. I wonder cream, Power Plate, love or other?"
Alice Watt, Fashion Assistant, Kettlebells at Virgin Active
"It has been five days since my first kettlebells session but I am only just regaining the ability to walk downstairs and bend without wincing! Following from the class, every muscle from my arms and legs to my back and sides have been sore. But to me, this is a good sign -no pain no gain as the saying goes and seeing as kettlebells are meant to give a full body workout, I feel like they must be doing something good!
To compliment the kettlebells I will be doing more cardio work at the gym this week as well as continuing the exercises given to me by the personal trainer to improve my back. I have found it difficult to keep in the routine of doing my 'homework' this week the prescribed exercises take up to 45 minutes to do!
Hopefully tonights class will refresh and motivate me..."
