I have to admit, Ive never been turned on by organic make-up. Although I think the concept of natural, organic and sustainable make-up is one that we should all follow, I cant help but be lured by the latest designer compact complete with luxe-looking shiny packaging. But after a meeting with make-up artist Kirsten Kjaer Weis last week, my fickle sensibilities are set to change.
Born out of her desire to create luxurious organic make-up encased in design-led packaging, Kirsten has launched her own collection of 95% organic cosmetics in Space.NK. Certified by the CCPB (the Italian organic certifying body), this small capsule collection includes an Eye Shadow, Lip Tint and Cream Blush. So whats so luxe about it? Not only are the formulations high-pigment, long-lasting and on-trend, they are contained in the most sumptuous heavy metal compacts Ive seen in a long time.
But before you all start shouting that heavy metal packaging isnt environmentally friendly, the idea is that you buy the compact just once and fill it with the recyclable (and inexpensive) refills every so often. Having given the products a go, Im officially a convert finally, I can combine good morals with make-up!
Prices for compacts start at £32. Prices for refills start at £13. Available at Space.NK.
