We love a good beauty launch, especially when it is to unveil a new brand! This week I headed to the launch of UNE. It’s by the same company as Bourjois but the two lines couldn’t be more different. Where Bourjois is flirty and frivolous, UNE is all about natural formulas and organic ingredients, housed in sleek, practical packaging.

The makers of UNE don’t claim everything is 100% natural or organic but they are dedicated to changing that (a lot of the products are already certified by ECOCERT). However, the products don’t contain gmos, parabens, silicones or synthetic colourings and fragrances.

The idea behind UNE is to make you look the best you can, rather than masking your complexion and features behind heavy cosmetics. Incidentally, thanks to nudes, taupes, putty and soft greys being the top trend for spring summer and autumn winter, this is likely to become one of your go-to brands for emulating the catwalk looks.

The genius of this brand is that if you are one shade in the skin-glow foundation, you will be the same shade in the Skin-Matt Foundation and the Healthy-Glow Mineral Powder. Not only that, but if you are a particular shade in the lipstick you’ll also be that shade in the blusher too meaning there is less room for error.

The formulas are comfortable to wear, nothing is drying and Christophe Durand UNE’s make-up artist suggests you apply almost everything with your fingers. Simples.

My top picks are the Glimmer Eyes Shadows (in fact all the shadows are in fashionable hues of putty, soft pinks and greys) and the Breezy Cheeks Blush, it has a cream-to-powder formula that makes blending a doddle.

UNE is available from Boots Oxford Street (Sedley Place) and at Boots.com from Wednesday. Prices from £5.
