Think back to your first experiments with make-up as a teenager. I’m pretty sure it involved frosted lipstick and bright blue eye shadow – am I right? Well, when it comes to teen make-up in 2010 things have moved on, as I found out at the Scarlet & Crimson launch yesterday.

Scarlet & Crimson is the brainchild of Ruby Hammer and Millie Kendall, of Ruby & Millie make-up, and is specifically targeted for teens. But before you all dismiss it as being for pre-adolescents only, I’m 25 and love it.

You see, although the packaging is playful and fun, the make-up takes itself seriously. And major kudos to the price point – everything is under a tenner.

I’ve been playing with the make-up all day and have discovered two stand-out favourites – the first is Punk Your Eyes Liquid Eyeliner, £4.95, which looks and feels just like a big marker pen and creates an uber-thick glossy line, perfect for AW10’s affinity for eyeliner. The second is the Roll With It eye roller ball in Storm Cloud, £3.95, a high pigment grey/black (with just a hint of glitter) that creates a seriously smoky rock chick eye.

My prediction - it's a cult in the making.
