I went to the opening of perfume house Byredos new pop-up store in the Front Room at the St Martins Lane Hotel in Londons Covent Garden last night. The launch was ostensibly to celebrate the six-week run of the store and also the arrival of the houses newest offering, La Tulipe (a delicious blend of cyclamen, vetiver and freesia), but I have to confess I had an ulterior motive for being there. Byredos Fantastic Man fragrance (geranium, incense and green lavender) is one of my personal favourites and given the lack of, well, a fantastic man in my life at the moment I thought it pertinent to douse myself in the stuff in the hope of enticing one. Fingers crossed it works, in the meantime Ill make do with smelling divine.
