Product: Anew Clinical Luminosity Pro Brightening Serum, £28 by Avon
The Claim: This revolutionary serum helps fade dark spots; evens skin tone and blotchiness, and improves clarity transforming skin to look younger.
The Pros: In recent months the focus of ageing has shifted away from wrinkles and onto pigmentation, which is why we are seeing a growth in pigmentation fighting products on the shelves.
Avons serum contains two formulas. The first is a brightening gel which removes dead skin cells to help retexture and brighten the skin. The second is the scientific-sounding Anti-Discolouration Helix which contains L-Aspartic Acid to inhibit pigment production and brighten existing dark spots. I used it every night for two weeks and noticed my skin was more even and my pigmentation had lightened.
Clinique have also recently launched a similar product called Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector, £37, which has been getting good feedback from those in the know in the beauty industry. Im testing it as I type and will bring you the BND verdict once Ive given it a thorough try.
