Treatment Review: Daxita lash extensions

The treatment:

The treatment: I arrive at the hair salon Atherton Cox, in Marylebone London, to be greeted Daxita herself, and am taken down to her intimate room at the back of the salon. She asks me what results I’d like to achieve – just a hint of fullness, tapered and lightly dramatic, or full on and fluttery. Never one to do things by halves, I opt for full on and fluttery. I lie back on a bed in a brightly lit (yet quietly serene) room while she gets to work on me. She uses around 80 lashes in total, bonding each lash individually to one of my existing lashes, in order to create the most natural looking eyelashes possible. Within an hour my newly enhanced lashes were done – I look in the mirror to see lashes that look like my own, but better. They feel quite awkward at first – heavy and a little itchy – but 5 minutes down the line I forget they are there.

The results: In a word, I love them. They are thicker, fuller and longer. Yes, they’re big, but in a natural way. I’ve also had strangers commenting on me being ‘naturally blessed’ in the lash department, which is a testament to itself. Two weeks down the line and they’re still going strong, although they are starting to fall out as my own lashes do. My only gripe is bedtime – I can no longer stuff my face into my pillow like I used to, and instead have begrudgingly embraced sleeping on my back. But getting up each morning to see a fresh face that requires little or no make-up is an outright winner. I’m sold.

The details: £150 for a full set of lashes at Atherton Cox, £45 for maintenance appointments; enq 020 7487 4048
