Spring hasnt sprung - here in Paris the grey clouds are lingering low and there is a chill in the damp air - it seems fitting that we're discussing autumn beauty.
Highlighter may be a huge trend this season, but backstage at Roland Mouret Val Garland is over the shimmery stuff.
Lets move on! she trilled backstage. Im bored [of highlighter].
There is a subtle contour and in place of that highlighter Garland is using a MAC Longwear Paint Pot in Soft Ochre. The beige cream adds a light sheen to skin but is in no way glossy or shimmery.
Garland is looking forward; this look is modern because it doesnt reference the past, weve taken any old elements away. The slick of liner in the waterline and along the lash line stops short of a retro flick. The focus is the eye, which brings an element of toughness to the look.
