This Saturday is my sister’s wedding and, after months of helping her plan every detail, I can’t wait to see her walk down the aisle.

Taking my bridesmaid duties seriously, I’ve spent the past few weeks using my beauty know-how to get me picture perfect for the big day. First up… hair.

Not having been blessed with naturally thick hair, up-dos tend to fall a bit flat on me. It’s the order of the day, though, so I’ve been looking up ways to give my hair a bit of a boost. Step up Neville, a Knightsbridge-based hair salon that offers a nationwide ‘Post The Pony’ service, £200. Nothing to do with horses, this literally gives you extra locks. You simply send a picture of yourself, along with a few strands of hair, to Paolo Lai at Neville and a week later you’ll receive a beautifully blow-dried ‘real hair’ ponytail matched to your hair type and colour. You can clip it in and wear as a pony or work it into an up do.

I received my ponytail (above) just in time for my hair trial with stylist Sophie at Sculptors in Leighton Buzzard, near the wedding venue. I asked her for a soft yet chic chignon and she gave me the low-slung Audrey Hepburn-inspired ‘do below. Soft yet structured - I love it.

So because I splashed out on my hair I’ve got to save on the make-up side of things. Check out Thursday’s blog to find out what I’ve gone for
