There is something about the way pale beiges and browns hit your skin that creates a warm and flattering glow. SS2010 is the season of the nude – it’s taking over both our make-up bags and our wardrobes (as seen at Chloe, Celine and Burberry). And where the catwalk leads the beauty brands follow, with a whole host of new nude make-up to warm, flatter and brighten your complexion…

Leading the way is Dolce & Gabbana with a spring collection bursting with taupes, oysters and beiges - my personal favourite is The Blush in Tan 22, £27, a beautiful ‘griege’ shade (that’s part grey/ part beige), that’s great for contouring and sculpting the cheeks. For shimmery highlights, wash the champagne and mink-toned Bronze Shimmer, £4.95, by W7, across your brow bones, cheekbones and cupid’s bow. Team it with a soft taupe eye – Urban Decay’s metallic Eyeshadow Primer Potion, £11.50 is perfect for this. Offset with a fleshy lip (try Lustrous Lipgloss in Peach Petal, £6.49, by Revlon). As for nails, L’Oreal has a new range of Resist & Shine Titanium polishes, £4.99 each, including a selection of mink, pinks and pale nude colours. I’ve been alternating between 305 (a mushroom brown) and 100 (the perfect manicure pink).

Makeup, done. Now I just need to work out my wardrobe
