I've just done my first show of the day in Milan. It was DSquared and lead make-up artist (and Vice President of MAC make-up artistry) Gordon Espinet described it as 'just a simple look'. Clearly, he's a man with a keen sense of irony, because make-up doesn't get much more 'done' than this – smoky black eyes winged up to the temples and shimmering with blue pigment, paired with matte powdered skin and deep red creamy lips. While Sam McKnight used Pantene to create hair that was glossy and tight to the head with dry, 'swingy' lengths.

Inspired by Robert Palmer and Helmut Newton photographs, it really was the ultimate exercise in 1980s glamour and just what I'd expect from my first taste of La Bella Italia.
