It's been a day of contrasts today. In one camp full faces of make-up reigned while in the other fresh faces ruled. Explosions of colour started at where make-up artist Tom Pecheux (for Estee Lauder) painted lids in shimmering blues and lips in metallic copper and then continued at where James Kaliardos made up models to resemble 'dream world beings' with mauve smoky eyes, lilac lips and sparkling purple cheeks. So forget everything you thought you knew about wearing colour on eyes and lips, all that's about to change.

If on the other hand natural skin does it for you then look no further than Marc by Marc Jacobs where I watched make-up artist Dick Page pat concealer and a little natural flush onto models' faces, 'the girls love me today because it's such a simple look so they're only in my chair for 30 seconds'. A couple of hours later I saw him again at Narciso Rodriguez where except for a graphic brow, faces were nude.
