So as my trip to New York fashion week looms (I’m off bright and early tomorrow morning with my notebooks at the ready) I thought I’d share with you a few things I’m particularly looking forward to...

Watching the madness unfold at Marc Jacobs. Season after season it never fails to disappoint, whether it’s 65 models all with different looks or Lady Gaga sauntering into the backstage tent for a make-up touch up.

Keeping my eye open for new model faces. Last season I practically stalked Constance Jablonski and Ginta Lapina (sorry ladies), so I can’t wait to see who will claim AW10’s crown.

Seeing Luke Hersheson work his magic at Preen and Lacoste. An ELLE regular, Luke is one of the friendliest faces on the backstage circuit and creates inspiring, beautiful styles that we’re always desperate to copy.

Stocking up on boxes of Emergen-C pink lemonade flavoured vitamin C sachets at Duane Reade (the US equivalent of Boots – I never knew a chemists could be so exciting). These bad boys are a fashion week must-have and get me through every fashion capital cold-free (I shall also be cramming my basket full of Cover Girl concealer and Sally Hansen nail art pens).

Eating as much Crispy Rice and Tuna Sashimi as I humanly can at Koi in the Bryant Park Hotel. OK, so it’s not strictly beauty, but a girl’s got to get her fashion week fuel from somewhere and all that raw fish will do wonders for my complexion.…

Watch out for my backstage blogs every morning as I bring you the latest tips, tricks and trends as they happen.
