Make sure you’ve got a Cuticle Nipper, Nail Clipper, Orange Sticks, Emery Board and Buffer to hand.

Soak your hands before you start – your cuticles and nails should be soft.

Never cut your cuticles, you need them to protect your nails from infection. Use an orange stick to push them back. The only area you should cut with the Cuticle Nipper are hang nails.

Apply cuticle oil and Nourish Cuticle Formula, £12.75, a vitamin rich cream on to the nails every evening. Massage in.

Apply regular top coats over your polish to keep it looking fresh, it will help it to last longer, too.
