For the past three years, Davina McCall's been working (out) to build herself a name in the fitness business. In fact, her popular DVDs – High Energy Five, Super Body Workout and Fit – have defined her as a bit of a modern day Jane Fonda. Why so popular? Well, it’s undoubtedly due in part to her woman-next-door persona, but it’s also because Davina doesn’t make a fitness DVD just to balloon out again afterwards. “I live it; I definitely live by what I preach. I don’t want to sell a lie,” she says.

But for those who need more than a woman bouncing around and emitting motivational instructions, Davina has created a range of exercise equipment. “I knew I wanted to do weights and equipment. I used to workout to Cindy Crawford’s video with cans of beans or bottles of water.” The 12-piece range – available from Argos from Saturday – includes everything from a skipping rope, £4.99, to a 2in 1 Cross Trainer/Cycle for £149.99.

Davina’s just announced she is training for this year’s Sport Relief challenge taking place in March. The details are top secret, but last year Cheryl Cole and co climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, so that’s one big goal, which is what Davina says you need to stay motivated: “Sign up for a 5k charity walk, that way you are doing something for charity and you’ll look like a fool if you don’t do it!”
