What with all this freezing weather lately I cant remember a time when I have leaned quite so heavily on my favourite beauty essentials. My skin feels papery and rough, my hands are dry as a bone and my lips are so sore and chapped it looks like Im permanently wearing a slick of angry red lipstick.
Presuming that you too are feeling the cold here are the ELLE teams winter weather suggestions to see you through.

Right now Im taking my Korres Lip Butter in Quince, £6, with me everywhere I go and layering on System Professionals Colour Save Mask, £19.50, since I went blonde my hairs drier anyway and with all this hat wearing its almost haystack-like. I left this on for an hour last night to restore some moisture.

Sisleys Nutritive hand care, £55, has seen me through this winter. I dont normally use hand cream as I find it too greasy but this icy weather means my skin is drier than ever. This makes my hands feel like velvet and sinks in straight away. Thanks to the wind whipping my face Im also surgically attached to my Carmex lip balm, £2.49, and have even found myself waking up in the night to slather a thick layer on.

This weather is causing my skin to feel itchy and irritated so Ive been applying Doves new Visible Effects Body Lotion, £4.99, religiously day and night to help put back some moisture. Because my face is also feeling super sensitive Eve Loms Rescue Mask, £28, has now become a regular entry into my pre-bed regime.
