This is such a novel feeling after the past month's competitive eating that I'm enjoying it, however. Apart from the odd stomach grumble, yesterday passed without incident being so busy in the office definitely helped take my mind off food or the absence of it. Didn't get home from work until 9pm and succumbed to a miso soup (12 calories!) as I was so cold, though I could have just added hot water to the lemon juice and maple syrup. This morning the scales showed that I've already lost a pound.www.themastercleanse.orgAmy Lawrenson, Web Assistant The Nosh Juice Detox My daily teaspoon of caster oil is making me feel nauseas so I'm toying with skipping this part of the Detox. So far, a couple of the juices have been tasty, but the others are a cucumber slice too far.Today's juices are:Flaxseed Berry, orange and appleAcai powder, carrot, apple, ginger and lemonGreen Synergy powder (an antioxidant superfood), mango, apple, pineapple and mint.I've got my evening juice chilling in the fridge at home yesterday it was banana, strawberry and orange, which was tasty and filling. I am enjoying the teas (it's olive flavour today); they really do 'trick the mind into thinking you are eating'. Instead of dinner last night, I had my nightly sea salt bath to 'cleanse the body'. I am finding the key to surviving this detox is to conserve energy. Walking to and from my tube station is enough exercise. I have a pile of DVDs and a new year's resolution to take up crochet to keep me busy. No one said detoxing was exciting, but the fact I have already lost 3lbs is spurring me on.www.noshdetoxdelivery.comJenny Dickinson, Beauty Director Beautiful Break Detox So last night I had my first thermal wrap, which is an essential part of this detox. I have to be honest, it wasn't the most pleasant experience I've had. Ideally, detoxers will have five of these wraps in a seven-day period. The idea is that they force you to sweat, getting rid of all those toxins, but it's different to a sauna as the temperature is kept slightly lower so that it's more than just 'surface sweat'. As it's my first time Ilona (the German co-founder of Beautiful Break as I'm the first person in the UK to test this detox, she's helping me through it personally) doesn't wrap me too tight, using four hot water packs and leaving my arms so they can move a little. But it's more than hot enough. I'm soon sweating and after the hour is up I'm begging to be released. Afterward, I actually enjoy my dinner of potato soup and a pear compote pudding! and am starting to feel pretty good. Plus, this morning I can see/feel that I'm a little slimmer (down to water loss more than anything else at this point), which is motivating enough to make me chow down that breakfast of what pretty much amounts to a dry Ryvita.www.beautifulbreak.comSusannah Edwards, Beauty Intern - Soulmate Foods Detox The headaches I was warned about have kicked in. It¹s all the roast potatoes, chocolates and red wine toxins from my annual Christmas binge working their way out of my system. This stage lasts a few days and shows the detox is working. Last night was tough. I was hungry, and my aduki bean and pine nut bake with Thai salad just didn't hit the spot. Late evening my boyfriend had to restrain me from tucking into his leftover spaghetti bolognaise. Breakfast this morning was better - juicy pineapple chunks, a tomato frittata, and a delicious strawberry and banana smoothie. Lunch and dinner look good too - ceasar salad and a chicken ratatouille bake. Things are looking up.www.soulmatelifestyle.com/foodGeorgia Collins, Beauty Writer - The Pure Package Detox I'm feeling good. In all honesty though last night was a little tricky. You see, after happily ploughing my way through my herb-crusted salmon and green beans (two small fillets was a nice surprise) and the grapefruit and nuts I had saved from the day's snacks I was feeling virtuous. It was only afterwards as I sat supping my green tea that the left-over Christmas chocolates scattered all over the kitchen table really began to look tempting - just a little something sweet to finish up would be perfect...Despite my housemate's best efforts to make me succumb (slurping on them right under my nose is just mean) I did manage to resist and went to bed glowing with triumph. Today's batch of food looks good although I wasn't overly enamoured with the sheep's yoghurt for breakfast it tasted, well a little too sheepy for my liking.www.purepackage.comClaire Sacre, Commissioning Editor The exercise-based detox Despite having a rotten cold, Claire is currently 'sweating it out' at a Bikram Yoga class, now that's dedication.
