Lily Cole has bucked the red-head trend by going brunette

The naturally red-headed model and actress Lily Cole was spotted with dark brunette hair and matching brows in Cambridge yesterday. Cole has reportedly never dyed her hair before, but it seems she wants to distance herself from the red shade that has become hugely popular this season thanks to Florence Welch and Rihanna.

Team ELLE wonder whether she was inspired by her shoot with French ELLE back in June? For those pictures she wore a raven-coloured wig, tonged into chic brushed-out waves. A look she clearly loved.

Sadly Lily's hair was covered with a woolly hat yesterday but we can't wait to see it in its full glory.
