Last night Naomi Watts stepped out for the premiere of her boyfriend Liev Schreiber's new film Salt with a new hairstyle that has got the ELLE office talking.
Instead of a dishevelled updo or luxe curls, hairstylist Robert Vetica gave Naomi a super straight, simple down-do using Moroccanoil products. The inspiration? The sleek lines of Naomi's strapless Gucci dress and Studio 54.
It was quite a change for Naomi. I cut two inches off, kept her hair blunt and collarbone length, and created a fringe that swooped to the side. The length is a bit longer in front and slightly higher in back," Robert told us.
If you need any more proof that you should be looking at straight hair for autumn winter, Carolina Herrera and Hermes sent models down the a/w 10 catwalks with ironed styles. Not only that but Catwalk by Tigi are launching a hair range later this year called Sleek Mystique.
It's not going to be a completely straight season however, bed-head dishevelled hair and knotted updos will still be on your hair agenda.
ELLE's hot tip: for a truly ahead-of-the-game hairstyle work a sleek ponytail pronto.
