Forget the likes of Megan Fox and Emma Watson, women in their early 30s are more beautiful than those in their teens or twenties. According to research 31 is the peak age for beauty; Anouck Lepere and Katherine Heigl are both 31.
QVC carried out the survey to coincide with its Julys Beauty Month and over 2000 men and women were surveyed. So why do we think 31 is the optimum age for beauty? According to the research 70% believe its confidence that makes a woman beautiful, followed by 67% who think looks are important, while style is near the top of the agenda with 47% thinking it makes a difference.
It is also telling that as women get older they care less about what other people think, a factor that can help grow confidence. 63% agree with the statement with age comes beauty, while 51% have let go of their insecurities as they got older and feel more beautiful.
So if its confidence that makes women more beautiful, then maybe its not all downhill after 31. Women like Jennifer Aniston, 41, Kim Cattrall, 53 and Helen Mirren, 64 prove this point; it looks like its not just men who get better with age.
