God! There is nothing like a good rumour to brighten spirits on a Monday morning and if the whispers are to be believed Sephora, the perfumery and cosmetics giant, are said to be in talks with good old Marks and Spencer to open 10 stores within their stores in the UK.
Theres also talk of plans to open 100 more if the initial launch is a success. Sephora stores are popular in New York and Paris boasting an extensive own branded cosmetics range as well as selling perfumes and cosmetics from luxury brands such as Chanel and YSL. This isnt the first time Sephora has ventured onto the british high street, it opened briefly a few years ago but closed in 2005 unable to compete with beauty giants Boots and Superdrug and exclusive apothecaries such as Space NK. Much to the disappointment of hardcore beauty fans the website Kiss and Make-up, even has a Bring Sephora back to the UK petition. An alliance with Marks and Spencer would bolster not only Sephoras image over here but also boost M&S rather feeble beauty department. Bring. It. On!
