Celeb Watch…The Shag

Victoria Beckham’s latest hairstyle - nicknamed ‘The Shag’ - has become something of an IT hairstyle with the A-List. VB debuted the look at an LA Lakers game back in November. Since then Diane Kruger, Zoe Saldana and Jessica Alba, among others, have followed suit. Where Victoria’s style was cropped at the neck, the other stars have started a shoulder-skimming length movement. We spoke to hairstylist Andrew Collinge to find out how you can get the look at home.

“The main products you need for this look are mousse and a serum to prevent frizz. If you have a natural wave, simply work into damp hair and leave to dry naturally, or dry with a diffuser. Otherwise, a large barrelled tong can achieve loose waves. Take small sections and alter the amount of length you wind gently around the barrel so it looks natural. Use hairspray to fix. Finish with texturising gum for more edge or for more gloss spritz over some shine spray.”
