The girls at Louis Vuitton strutted down the catwalk with their ponies swishing from side to side: undoubtedly one of team ELLE's favourite trends this season. Since then the A-List have been rocking every type of tail from sleek to tousled. We spoke to Peter Lux, head&shoulders Creative Beauty Director, on how to choose the right style for you and get the look right at home.More
“Pull all the hair up and away from your face and smooth it over with a soft bristled brush so there are no bumps. Then using a bungee tie the hair quite high and tight on the crown. Next, using large tongs curl the ends of the hair outwards to give 1950s kink to the pony. If you have a fringe, style it to the side and finish with a vintage hair clip and a mist of hairspray”, says Peter.Blax Bungee Bands, £3.55 for 3 at HQHair
“Natural, looser ponytails suit everyone. Use large tongs and curl large sections, remembering not to curl the ends as it will look grungier. Then shake your head and gather the hair at the nape and tie. For more volume around the crown, hold the pony with one hand and with the other hand, spread your fingers and push the hair up”.
