Karl Lagerfeld to collaborate with Shu Uemura

Lagerfeld doesn't use watercolours or charcoals when creating his inimitable fashion sketches. Instead he has been using Shu Uemura eye shadows to bring colour to his fashion sketches for decades. You may wonder why Lagerfeld uses make-up when hand colouring his illustrations? 'Because other manufacturers do not offer such beautiful colours.'

Lagerfeld’s unconventional artist materials use if Uemura’s products have led to the fashion designer creating a collection in homage to the beauty brand and friend he admires so much. Lagerfeld has masterminded this exclusive collection from the colour selection and packaging to personally photographing the visual campaign.

As yet we have no details of the collection except that Karl Lagerfeld for Shu Uemura is slated to launch worldwide in November, while the president of Karl Lagerfeld Pier Paolo Righi has hinted that the already sought-after collection will reflect the designer's 'iconic, ironic style.'
