We all know the story – Watson was contractually obliged to keep her hair long for the Harry Potter films, so as soon as shooting finished she had her tresses cropped at the Cutler Salon in New York saying on her Facebook 'Yes, I cut my hair off a few days ago! I love it - feels incredible.'

However, her short hair doesn’t seem to be holding her back in terms of film roles as she had worried it would last year. Currently Watson is filming The Bling Ring in which she sports long, brown hair extensions. The heist film is based on a true story about a group of teenagers who commit a ring of celebrity burglaries. Known as the ‘Hollywood Hills Burglar Bunch’, they were caught raiding the houses of such stars as Paris Hilton, Rachel Bilson, Megan Fox and Lindsay Lohan.

It’s rumoured the actress will also star as the ‘beauty’ in a remake of Beauty and the Beast. And if you remember Belle in the Disney version, she had flowing brunette hair. The remake will be directed by Guillermo del Toro’s who bought us Pan’s Labyrinth and Hellboy, which means it’s likely to be much darker than the Disney animation from 1991.
