If you're lucky enough to find a workout that you actually enjoy, then bully for you my friend.

If you 'can't wait' for you HIIT class, or are 'totally stoked' to do that 10k, then you are very lucky. Treasure that joy, don't let anyone take it away.

For some people, when (and if) they exercise it is not the actual workout they particularly enjoy. It's probably the endorphin rush afterwards, or the mental health benefits, sleeping better, being able to wear the jeans they want, or even, just because they know they should.

Like, hands up if you work out solely so you can eat more.

However, overwhelming evidence from the world of models and actresses would actually suggest that all women in the world actually love exercising more than literally anything else, and that you, reader, are a freak for not being totally, endlessly thrilled to get yourself back on the treadmill as soon as you finish work.

One woman who has spoken the actual, real-life truth about this matter is none other than Gabrielle Union.

Beloved for her acting chops, style, beauty and general woke-ness, Gabrielle Union is the woman who told the world that the secret to her youthful looks is water…and bacon.

In her cover interview with Health magazine she was asked by the interviewer, 'Is it fair to say you don't like working out?'

Union responded like a class act, 'I do not. [Laughs.] I'm not one of those people, like, "I can't start my day without it." Nope. I can actually start my day beautifully, sleeping in, eating some pancakes.'

Hear hear.

But she doesn't stop there. The actress goes on to explain the practical, the logical and the, quite frankly, depressing reason she does anyway:

But I work out because I have a family history of diabetes and heart disease. Knowing what I can do to prevent that has been a huge thing. And then there's my job. Knowing that there are people who cannot wait to circle your fat and draw an arrow to it keeps me in the gym. So between fearing health issues and fearing "Stars, they're just like us! Look at their cellulite!" — that keeps me in the gym.

We love the fact that Union is educated about her health and doing something about it, but not so into the societal pressure put upon her.

Kudos to Union for speaking the truth. The woman is as real as it gets.
