The Concept: Raaaaaargh! Zuu is an Australian-born fitness method based entirely on ‘primal’ movements incorporating the seven most natural human (and animal) movements - push, pull, bend, twist, squat, lunge and locomotion. Each of the 100 moves is named after the animal that inspired it. Expect to be bouncing like a joey, crawling like a bear, squatting like a frog and running like a gorilla. Movement expert and fitness enthusiast Nathan Helberg designed the full body workout that develops mobility, agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance and can burn up to 600 calories in 30 minutes. Intense! Grrrrrrrrrr.

What You Need: Your usual gym kit and a willingness to unleash your inner animal...

Difficulty Rating: It’s a tough but the moves can be adjusted to accommodate people of all ages and fitness levels. More experienced gym-goers can use the Ankorr method to ramp up the difficulty level – this involves using resistance bungees that facilitate a fluid 360 degree movement.

Location: Zuu is available exclusively at selected Virgin Active Health Clubs from early April. It will be available at Virgin Active nationwide from the summer.

Cost: The classes are for Virgin Active members only. Membership starts from £40 per month
