The ELLE Running Club is taking to the streets of Barcelona on Sunday, 15 February for the Mitja Marató, a fast-paced whistle-stop tour of the Catalonian capital. We'll be joining up to 16,500 runners on a circular route which takes in the harbourfront along the elegant Passeig d'Isabel II. Paral-lel leads to the wide tree-lined avenue of Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, cutting long and straight through the city. Once at the easterly edge of the course, we'll sprint past Herzog & de Meuron's iconic Forum Building to tackle a 1-kilometre hairpin before the home straight: Barcelona's own Port Olimpic, the seaside location of the 1992 Games, a fitting tribute for the day's purpose. Finishers will cross the line where we began, to the north of to Parc de la Ciutadella, the perfect place to crash and stretch with a celebratory glass of cava (or two. or three.)
