A strong body is the key to a strong mind. So to celebrate our Body Issue, we’re challenging ourselves to 30 days of exercise moves. To help, we called Dan Roberts, personal trainer to a slew of Victoria’s Secrets Angels and the man A-list actresses call when they come to London. He created a bespoke strength-training course to boost our energy and fitness levels for summer.

‘Muscles are designed to be strong! It’s their natural state, it makes them happy,’ he says. Each exercise has been devised to work a specific part of your body. So one day we’ll focus on your upper body, the next will target your lower. As the days go on and you become increasingly stronger, the workouts will get harder to keep the challenge, challenging.

‘Remember, form is fundamental. With every exercise you do you want to think about the range of movement, core activation, weight transfer, speed of movement and body position. The amount of time you do each exercise and number of reps you complete won’t matter if they’re not done right. So to ensure you’re getting the correct form, I’ll be guiding you through each move and pointing out the way your body should be positioned’, says Dan.

The best part? You don’t need any special equipment, just your own body weight, a chair or bench and a bottle of water.
