Skeptics and those with a fear of needles may want to think again after a study has shown the ‘strongest evidence to date’ that acupuncture can really help.
Scientists tested the ancient Chinese treatment on a bunch of rats and found that it produced positive results. There was a whole complicated science bit in the report to prove it, but TBH we zoned out.
Suffice to say Mariah Carey swears by acupincture (she says it helped her to get pregnant). Gwen Stefani, Elle Macpherson, Jennifer Aniston, Kim Kardashian and Matt Damon are also fans.
The study, from the University of Georgetown, concluded categorically that acupuncture helps with ‘stress and pain, and, potentially, depression’.
Now to get over that fear of needles...
