Ever wondered what fitness bloggers do with their days? Us too. The Instagram-filtered phenomenon is only growing more popular by the day as the country embraces avocado toast and courgetti at rapid speed. But how does someone who has more than 80,000 people following her online life (and that’s just on Instagram) keep on top of her business. We spoke to Faya Nilsson, the Swedish, London-based personal trainer, best known as Fitness on Toast to find out, and don’t worry, we won’t skip the detail.

The training:

Breadth and variation is key, as it keeps my body guessing, makes things challenging and adds the fun-factor. I love Barry's Bootcamp as it's the sort of class where you push yourself so hard that you think you might not make it through, but afterwards you feel like super-woman having completed such a gruelling class. I also love Hatha or Ashtanga yoga.

A typical day involves a power walk for an hour first thing in the morning, which I try to do at least three times per week. I fit in at least three sessions of weight training and one session of yoga per week and recently Crossfit once a week as well.

The food:

Breakfast

I'm up at 05:30 to make a cold-press juice shot which fuels my morning power walk, after which I'll whip up an egg white omelette (with fresh chilli herb, plus basil, parsley, coriander, peppers, tomatoes and asparagus.)

Lunch

Something wholesome and a little heavier like baked sweet potato with grilled salmon and fresh spinach.

Dinner

A light dinner of grilled tuna steak on salad and some fruit before a relatively early 10pm bedtime.

Kitchen cupboard essentials

A Vitamix, cold-press juicer, as well as fresh ginger, lemon, and avocado

Treat time

A cinnamon bun from Gail's bakery; is my kryptonite!

The beauty regime:

There are three essential steps:

1) Skincare: training all the time and subsequent showering means I need super-hydrating skin products. My number one beauty essential would be drinking gallons of water, but beyond that I find that organic coconut oil is the most nourishing for my skin.

2) Scent: My favourite perfume at the moment is Eau de Pamplemousse Rose by Hermès as I love the freshness of the citrus and am pretty obsessed with grapefruit.

3) Haircare: For my hair, I love KerastaseMasquintense as I find that it's totally restorative after the 5th gym session of the week!

Work balance:

I typically go on to train a select group of clients one-on-one in the mornings.

The entire afternoon is usually about blog-related meetings and content production, and my gym session or class.
