Not in the mood to exercise? Why not take advantage of Halloween tomorrow and burn some calories watching a horror film? No, we haven't gone mad. Dr Richard Mackenzie of Westminster University has found watching a movie that scares you increases your heart rate helping you burn calories.
'As the pulse quickens and blood pumps around the body faster, we experiences a surge in adrenaline. This surge, produced during short bursts of intense stress (in this case brought on by fear), lowers the appetite, increases the basal metabolic rate and ultimately burns a higher level of calories,' said Dr Mackenzie, of the study commissioned by LoveFilm.
Here we reveal the 10 films in the study and the calories burnt. Which one will you watch tomorrow night?
