In so much as we like a beaded headband, brooch or clip, we've seen hair jewellery come and go time and time again.

But this year's Golden Globes 2017 saw up-dos bedazzled in a few more innovative ways than usual, which has inspired us to dream up lots of plans for decorating our chignons the next time we have to don a fancy frock.

In a nod to the more traditional hair adornment, the youngest of Sylvester Stallone's daughters, Scarlet Stallone - who was one of the beneficiaries of the Miss Golden Globe awards - sported two embellished combs at the sides of her swept back hair.

But more exciting and unusual hair jewellery was showcased on the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker and Janelle Monae.

Sarah Jessica Parker, whose Princess Leia inspired hair was furled neatly around her head in a tight braid, showed off a neat piece of dark gemmed hair jewellery along her centre parting.

Janelle Monae, on the other hand, took a more comprehensive approach, weaving little pearls throughout the entire of her high bun.

This isn't the first time that Janelle Monae has experimented with full-blown hair bedazzlement though, having tried the same sort of look with safety pins and gold strands.

Bedazzled buns, a trend we're more than willing to try.
