For Versace's AW17 show, visionary backstage hairstylist, Guido, chose to mix things up in the hair department; sending 20 out of the 52 (mega) models stomping down the runway sporting bold, brightly coloured streaks in their hair.

Obviously unconventional colours aren't an entirely new trend. Hell, we're used to seeing everything from pink ombré to rainbow shading on our Instagram feeds daily.

But while bright colours might be the new norm, they surprisingly rarely surface on the fashion week circuit.

So why now?

'We're taking inspiration from girls on the street, who are using hair colour like they would a cosmetic and becoming more experimental with colour than ever before,' explained Guido.

But this is Versace we're talking about, and an average dye job over the bathroom sink isn't going to cut it.

Oh no. Donatella called on expert colourist, Josh Wood and his team to bespoke dye lengths of extensions in five shades, from canary yellow (as worn by Gigi) to pillar box red (chosen for Bella).

How to make them blend in with the natural hair? 'Kick and bend the ends out with a straightening iron to blend them in,' advises Guido.
