Kim Kardashian, who famously spent 21 days back in 2015 investigating if blondes do actually have more fun, has debuted silvery, platinum blonde hair just in time for NYFW.
On Wednesday night, the reality star posted an Instagram story of herself sporting newly blonde locks, courtesy of longtime hairstylist Chris Appleton, who confirmed that the major hair transformation wasn't a wig, but actually a drastic cut and dye job.
'Taking Kim blonde was something we've been talking about for a long time," Appleton told ELLE.com. "It was a great transition from the super-long, Cher-like look Kim has been wearing since last year in Paris. We wanted a drastic change, so we went platinum blonde.'
While Kim is no stranger to going blonde, Appleton wanted to make sure it wasn't "your regular, run-of-the-mill platinum blonde," he said. "We made it more of a silvery white which I think gives it a really cool unexpected edge."
And his advice for the people at home who might want to try out Kim's Khaleesi-like hair for themselves? 'Go to a professional. It's a big transformation and if not done properly, [it] can do extreme damage to your hair.'
