Should Onions Be Part of Your Beauty Regime?

First potatoes, now onions.

It seems vegetables are quick becoming a go-to for beauty treatments.

First Olivia Munn credits a potato for it's anti-ageing benefits, now beauty vlogger Farah Dukhai has claimed that the key to growing out your brows is, in fact, the humble onion.

Yes, an onion.

Farah recently took to her Instagram and posted a video of the unorthodox beauty regime where she rubs an onion on her brows with the caption “GROW YOUR EYEBROWS FAST!”.

Before you squirm at the very thought of applying the potent smelling vegetable to your face, here are the alleged benefits according to Farah:

'Onion juice has sulphur which speeds up the growth of hair and makes it thicker.'

In a recent article, further research claimed that although onion juice was once used on women with alopecia, and was found to promote hair growth,  'ultimately, putting onion juice on your eyebrows isn’t bad for you, but it also isn’t guaranteed to promote brow hair growth.'

If you’re brave enough to test the theory, we salute you and do let us know how you get on.
