Whether you're heading to one of Britain's best festivals or travelling to (much) drier climes further afield, your festival look will likely take a bit of planning.

You may be tempted to pack a variety of wardrobe changes to allow for swings in both weather and mood. But when it comes to hair, there's one catwalk-inspired look that will cover you from Burning Man to Bestival.

Braids were all over the SS17 shows, from Valentino's Disney-worthy thick, long plaits and Dior's braid buns to Kenzo's sleek looped braids. But the most versatile festival look came in Roberto Cavalli's mini braids.

The ethereal-over-extra locks work just as well with flowing chiffon as they do with leather fringe - and the style is perfect for straight or curly hair. Plus, you can do it once before you leave, and (with a bit of dry shampoo) it should last you through the weekend.

Here's how to get the festival-ready look:

Step one: Spray your hair with an oil-free salt spray like Bumble and Bumble's Surf Spray.

Step two: Dry your hair using a smoothing nozzle attachment on your dryer, set to around 80 degrees on high speed. We used the Dyson Supersonic™, which perfectly regulates temperature for drying your hair sans damage.

Angle your hairdryer parallel to your hair, until it's around 80 percent dry.

Step three: Switch to a diffuser. You'll need a hair dryer that has a high heat, low speed setting and a really good diffuser attachment otherwise you'll end up with a layer of frizz over your waves.

Thankfully, the Dyson Supersonic diffuser gently blows air evenly around your hair to maintain that elusive definition.

Step four: Scrunch sections of your hair from the bottom upwards until your hair is fully dry.

Step five: Take small sections of your hair either above your ear or behind them and braid. Do at least two, but feel free to add a couple more.

Add mini braids

Step six: Gently pull your braids apart to give them a more teased look and get ready to dance from day to night.
