Easy, Lazy, Hair Ideas
Okay, your hair may not be lazy, but when your alarm goes off sometimes the last thing you want to do is wash, blow-dry and style your hair. Dark mornings call for an extra 10 minutes snoozing, right?
So, here are our top tricks and quick easy-to-do hairstyles for disguising greasy roots and embracing bed-head texture.
Unless your hair is super thick and unruly dont brush. Instead use your fingers as a comb.

Unless your hair is super thick and unruly don’t brush. Instead use your fingers as a comb.
Marc Trinder, Art Team Director at Charles Worthington Salons, recommends you then, ‘apply shine spray to a blusher brush, stroke through your hair or on the surface to tame flyaways and to add shine’.

Joely Walker's Beauty Assistant shows you how to get this easy side plait:
For this plait you need to get plenty of texture into your hair using a texturising spray or dust – massage the product through your roots if you want volume.
Work Percy & Reed Quite Wonderfully Wavy Texturising Spray, £14 (John Lewis) through the mid-lengths and ends before lightly backbrushing - this will give you a fat, slightly dishevelled plait.
Pull the hair to one side and split into three equal sized sections before plaiting.
Secure at the end with a hair elastic. Finish by pulling at the plait to make it appear wider.
ELLE loves hair with texture here’s our favourites:

Miette is ELLE's Art Director and this hairstyle is her go-to on lazy days.
This works best if hair hasn’t been washed for 2-3 days.
Put texture in using dry shampoo (Miette loves Batiste or Redken). You want this to look dishevelled, not ‘wedding’.
Put your hair into a ponytail at the middle of your head at the back (on the bony bit).
Pull the pony forward, then back on itself and start twisting the hair in and under as you would with a chignon.
Pin in place from the middle to the back.
Manipulate the front of the hair into desired shape and pin in place.

Beauty Intern Shannon Peter shares her lazy hairstyle:
Gather all your hair your hair at the top of your head and whilst holding, brush the hair towards your hand to keep it looking neat and tidy.
Secure with a hair small hair band and pull the hair slightly to one side.
Over the hair band, attach a ponytailer to liven up this otherwise simple style.
Twist the ends of your hair in your fingers to create a soft curl to soften this power pony.
Amy Lawrenson, Senior Beauty Writer, shows you how to get this easy bun hairstyle.
Using your fingers gather your hair into a high ponytail and secure with a hair elastic.
Take a hair doughnut (you can buy hair doughnuts from Boots) and feed your ponytail through the whole, before tucking the hair over the doughnut to conceal it. Pin the hair in place.
Take a large bow barette and pin it snug underneath the bun.
Et voila!
Two-in-one shampoo and conditioners have a bad name, but this multi-purpose hair balm goes someway to repairing that bad reputation.
A shampoo and conditioner in one, it is sulphate-free which means it won’t lather like a traditional shampoo which takes a little getting used to.
By skipping a step it’s quick to use so you can be in and out of the shower fast. ELLE tested it and our hair wasn’t as shiny as usual, but it looked and smelt clean. This would be a brilliant addition to your gym bag if only it came in a smaller tube.
Uniq One All in One Cleansing Balm, £11.95 at feelunique.com
Beauty Director Sophie Beresiner swears by this tousled up-do:
Start with roughly textured hair (mine is rough naturally, but if you need help add some dry shampoo).
Gather into a low side pony and secure with a hair elastic.
Pull out the very top section, run fingers back down the hair from end to root to 'backcomb', then push it back.
Hold in place with an elastic headband (this one is from Goody).
Twist the pony, wrap it round into a rough bun and pin in place. If it falls out it looks better!
Grab small section of hair from the left and right side of face, pull back and band in place at the back of your head.
Loosely plait banded hair.
Move all remaining loose hair over to one shoulder and loosely plait adding more as you move down the hair.
Add banded plait to the main plait and carry on to the end
