Bora Aksu
The look: Makeshift ballerina
The hairstylist: Sam Burnett for KMS California
Key product: KMS California Volumizing Spray, £11.25, to give the style a lived in, texturised feel and elastic from any good haberdashery
Top tip: Be sure to leave the ends of your hair natural for a textured contrast to the shine on the roots and experiment with the parting to see what works best for your face shape
DAKS
The look: Punk meets baroque
The hairstylist: Luke Hersheson for L’Oréal Professionnel
Key product: L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni.ART Mousse, £11.45, and Tecni.ART Hair Fix, £8.90
Top tip: Work the mousse through damp hair before rough-drying to make it workable and backcomb the front section to create textured height. Make sure you’ve got plenty of pins to secure the back
J.JS Lee
The look: Stark and clean
The hairstylist: Halley Brisker for LOreal
Key product: A piece of fabric to secure the pony: this look was inspired by using anything at hand to tie back your hair.
Top tip: For a simple Autumnal look, double over your low pony to create a horse shoe effect and use a wet blusher brush to apply L’Oreal Professional Tecni Art Pli thermo fixing spray, £13.00, to give hair a totally clean finish.
Shrimps
The look: Wrap-under ponytail
Hair stylist: Alex Brownsell
Key product: Bleach Swamp Spritz, £6, and Everyday Dry Shampoo, £6.
Top tip: Start by blowdrying your hair smooth before sweeping into a low chignon and wrapping around a one-inch strand of hair to conceal the elastic tie. Curl the pony under and pin into place.
Felder Felder
The look: Bedhead meets Beehive
Hair stylist: Armin Morbach
Key product: Schwarzkopf Got2B Rise 'n Shine Hairspray, £3.99, and Volumising Style Powder, £3.99.
Top tip: Massage the volumes dust into your roots and then backcomb from the crown of your head backwards to get the 60’s style volume, keeping a structured centre parting at the front.
Julien Macdonald
The look: Hair veil
Hair stylist: James Pecis
Key products: L'Oreal Paris Firm Hold Gel and Elnett Hairspray, £6.60.
Top tip: James used pieces of lace from a veil in the collection. To apply, he pressed the lace over the top of strong hold gel.
The look: Gritty waves
Hair stylist: Adam Reed
Key Product: GHD Curve Classic Wave Wand, £110, and Heat Protectant Spray, £9.95, pre-mixed with Cornish sea salt to give hair a grittier texture.
Top tip: Take a random 1-inch piee of hair and run the flat edge of the wand down it, then wrap around the piece and go forwards and backwards 3 times to get this tousled wave.
The look: 70's bouncy curls
Hairstylist: Mark Hampton
Key product: Toni and Guy Prep Volume Plumping Mousse, £6.99 (Boots), and 3D Volumiser, £7.49 (Boots).
Top tip: Use the volumiser on roots to give lift and shine, then blow-dry your hair with a round bristle brush and pin into curls. Once dry, shake out the curls and brush through with your hands.
The look: Brush backlash
Hair stylist: Anthony Turner
Key product: L'Oreal Professionnel Beach Waves, £14.99 (lookfantastic), and Infinium Hairspray, £11.65 (lookfantastic).
Top tip: You don’t need to use a brush or comb to recreate this effortlessly tousled style. Keep the airy, light hair texture by back coming sections with your fingers.
The look: The tuck-up
Hair stylist: Eugene Souleiman
Key products: Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz, £8.50, and Finish Stay Hairspray, £10.35.
Top tip: Spray hairspray really close to the root of the front section only and comb back to get the slick effect. Sweep the rest of your hair into a low, loose ponytail then tuck it up and pin it in place.
The look: Tinsel highlights
The hairstylist: Ali Pirzadeh
Key product: L'Oreal Professionnel TecniArt Gloss Control, £10.60, and tinsel hair pieces
Top tip: This shimmery look with tinsel works best if all of the hair is smooth and shiny. Work Liss Control, £11.45, into the hair before drying to get rid of flyaways and give a glossy finish.
The look: Wispy plait
Hair stylist: Anthony Turner
Key products: L'Oreal Professionnel Techniart Pli, £13, Infinium Hairspray, £11.65, and long clip-in hair extensions.
Top tip: Clip in the hair extensions in layers, then blow dry smooth with the Pli serum. Next, braid your hair into a thick plait and then pull out hairs at random to achieve the wispy look.
Fashion East
The look: 90’s Grunge
The hairstylist: Mark Hampton
Key product: Toni&Guy Style Spray Wax, £7.49, to set the look and Creative Extreme Hold Hairspray, £7.00, to keep it all in place.
Top tip: Prep the hair with a volume pumping mousse when damp before sectioning off, twisting and drying.
The look: Triangle parting
Hair stylist: Sacha Mascolo-Tarbuck
Key products: Label M Sea Salt Spray, £13.25, and Resurrection Dust, £12.25.
Top tip: Create a triangle shaped parting using a tail comb for precision. Tie the top section into a ponytail, then join the second section into the same ponytail and tie again.
The look: Airy bun
Hair stylist: Luke Hersheson
Key products: L'Oreal Professionnel Fresh Dust, £8.90, and Air Fix Hairspray, £8.90.
Top tip: Tilt your head back and massage the texture dust into your roots for lift. Use your fingers to rake it back into a mid-level, dishevelled bun.
The look: Choppy wigs
Hair stylist: Sam McKnight
Key products: Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, £39, and L'Oreal Professionnel TechniArt Air Fix Hairspray, £8.90.
Top tip: Each models’ wig was chosen to match their own hair colour. Sam then gave them a Rock’n’roll inspired chop. You can still recreate the bedhead texture by softly tonging your hair in random 1 inch sections, finishing with the two products to give the style grit and hold.
