2 Take a round bristle brush and curl the hair by blow-drying all the hair away from the face. Then set each section by wrapping hair around the brush and using the cold shot to cool it down.
3 Brush all the hair through with soft flat bristle brush. Take some pins or grips and roll the back of hair into the nape in a random, slightly mussed-up, way.
4 Adorn with hair jewellery or even a fresh flower.
5 Finish by misting with Bb Does it All, £19 to set the style.

1. Create a quiff by back combing your fringe or front section of hair back and spray into place.
2. Slick the rest of the hair away from the face and set with a with a hard hold hairspray.
3. Create your own size bow by using ponytail hairpieces from Vani-T. Loop the first in two and then use the second to wrap round the middle. Pin together.
4. Finally, pin into place on the side of the head.

1. First your hair will need to have been blow dried straight, as well as sectioned and straightened with flat irons.
2. Run a hairbrush over the surface lightly to smooth out snags or knots and keep hair flat to the head. A great tip is to spray your brush with hairspray before you use it, this will banish frizz.
3. A bit more volume to the crown can be more wearable. Backcomb the underneath section of your hair at the crown using a soft bristled brush. Mist all over with my Hold Tight Hairspray, £4.49.
4. Gather hair together into a ponytail just above the middle point at the back of your head and fix into place using a clear snag free band. If you want, hide theband by wrapping a section of your hair from the ponytail around the band and securing with a pin.
5. Finish with a mist of hairspray and a spritz of my Shine Head Shine Spray, £4.49 for a glass like effect

To get Diane’s party-perfect look, follow her hairdresser, Adam Reed’s, five step guide…
1 Prep damp hair with a blow drying cream like Shu Uemura Satin Design, £19.50, and rough dry to allow subtle movement and ultra shine.
2 Take small sections of hair, above each ear and then either side of the crown, or wherever you would like the plaits to sit, then loosely braid them and secure at the ends.
3 Section the remaining hair into a side part, sweeping the top section back from the crown, and start to loosely twist from behind the ears across into the nape and secure using Kirby grips.
4 Draw the braids back into the twist and secure with the grips.
5 Mist a small amount of hairspray, Shu Uemura Sheer Lacquer, £19.50, to secure.

George Northwood at Daniel Hersheson shows you how to get effortless curls…
1. After applying some heat protector like Kerastase Ciment Thermique, £17.20, to towel dried hair, rough dry the hair whilst twisting randomly to avoid getting too much frizz and to create a slight wave.
2. Blow dry the hair at the front all forward, this will give you that sweeping fringe; then part the hair where desired.
3. Taking Daniel Hersheson Waving Tongs, £85, tong sections of the hair all the same way - leaving the root and the end out and putting the tongs on the top of each section.
4. When you take the tong from the hair pull it slightly so it sets as a wave and not a curl.
5. Run your fingers through the hair and apply some Kerastase Lumiere Nutri Sculpt, £17.20.

1. Use Charles Worthington Front Row Heat Defence Spray £5.99 to prep hair wet hair.
2. It is important to get volume at the roots for this look so blow-dry with a big round brush, making sure the brush is pushed in at the roots to give great lift.
3. Section hair into 1 inch sections and tong with a large barrelled tong, (hqhair.com do great ones) to give a 40's style curl. I always hairspray on each section before tonging to make sure the curl has the staying power.
4. Pin back hair section by section to get the faux bob look. A good tip is to use matte grips, as they do not slide out as easy, and also to bend back one of side of the grip to make a fish-hook, which will also grip the hair in tighter.
5. For the front section make sure that you tong the curls away from the face, as this is more flattering then finish with Charles Worthington Front Row Shine Spray £5.99.
