World famous hairstylist Frederic Fekkai says, ‘This knotted hairstyle makes a beautiful bridal look that would work well for Kate. It’s youthful but still classic and exudes a bit of drama that I think would appeal to her.’
‘Using a round brush, blow-dry the hair smooth and straight, focusing on the top sections. Once dry, use a large-barrel curling iron to create waves from the ears down. Build height and volume at the crown by teasing the hair gently with a fine-tooth comb. Next, gather hair into a low ponytail, twist it along the nape of your neck, pinning as you go. Once you reach your ear, shape the remaining hair into curls and pin them back over the twist. Spritz strands into place with Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray, £20’.

Hair stylist James Brown is styling the other Kate’s (Moss) hair for her big day; he believes William’s Kate will wear her hair up ‘because of all the pressure she is under to do what she is expected to do’. He says, ‘I would keep it really simple. She always looks great when she’s out shopping with sister, Pippa. I really hope she doesn’t do bride - hair half up and half down with ringlets. She’ll regret that!’

Adam Reed, who is the resident stylist on X Factor and Diane Kruger’s hair stylist of choice, says, ‘Kate should wear it down, tousled and soft – like Jennifer Aniston when she married Brad Pitt. I’d also change the colour for a softer tone, with subtle caramel highlights throughout. To style the hair I’d use a mix of Klorane Nettle Dry Shampoo, £7.50, and hairspray. I would add a bend in the hair with a Babyliss Pro Conical Wand, £47. Then, I might pin a few pieces back. Just like I did backstage at the House of Holland show but before I put it up in a pony’.

Rihanna’s hairstylist Ursula Stephen lets us in on the hairstyle she would give Kate, ‘first things first, Kate needs to warm her colour up for her wedding day; it would bring out her features so beautifully!
As for the style- she must take it all the way up! A nice twist at the back with a side fringe and a slight texture, with tendrils where needed. I think she has a beautiful neck line and needs to show it off! This look will say classic, sophisticated, sexy and youthful in one breath! With the right makeup she will look timeless’.

Ben Cooke, celebrity hairstylist, co-owner of Lockonego and ambassador for Herbal Essences, says, ‘I would choose a very relaxed look for Kate, nothing too 'done', and something that shows off her face. The models at the Dolce & Gabbana s/s 2011 show (pictured) sported a great look for a bride. The hair was pulled back from the face and had a soft dishevelled look.’
To get the look, ‘wash your hair with Herbal Essences Dazzling Shine Shampoo, £3.67 (at boots.com), dry and curl the hair with a large-barrelled tong. Then give it a thorough brush. Next, gently back comb the roots and mid lengths to give the hair a soft and slightly fluffy texture. Finally, pin the hair back into a large loose bun at back of the head’.

US-born session stylist James Pecis told us, ‘First off, I would approach this ‘wedding look’ as if it were a red carpet event. She should look gorgeous, elegant and classic on her wedding day, as she will be representing all British women.
I would give her a chignon. The hair should be pulled back softly from the face (and upwards for a more youthful feel) with texture put in using Bb Thickening Spray, £20.50. Kate usually has a soft piece that goes across her forehead and off to the side - she should keep this. The chignon itself should not be too messy instead it should look soft and feminine; with a light spritz of Elnett, £3.57 (at boots.com), to finish.
But most importantly, we need to discuss Prince William’s hair... what are we going to do with him?’
The most important wedding date since Charles and Diana in 1981 has almost arrived. Kate Middleton will soon become a princess and all eyes will be on her hair, make-up and that dress. Kate’s hairdresser, Richard Ward, is set to tend her tresses for the occasion and rumour has it she will be working an up-do - complete with tiara - for the big day. But what would other A-list stylists create for our future Queen given the chance? ELLE finds out…
