For each look you should wash and towel dry your hair, prepping it with a good spritz of L’Oreal tecni art Pli, £12.60 before blow-drying.

This look has a vintage aesthetic, but is not at all fussy or staid. 

Backcomb along the hairline at the nape of your neck this gives a padded area for the grips.

Hold your hair in a ponytail and grip the hair along the top of your hand. Grips at either edge should go inwards to hold the hair in place. 

Split the ‘ponytail’ into three sections.

Roll the centre section up and pin in place.
