Twist and Roll
You can rely on London’s young designers to create some of the season’s most inventive hairstyles and this summer’s array of futuristic up-dos and retro twists at Todd Lynn, Danielle Scutt and Roksanda Ilincic didn’t disappoint. For a more elegant version, head stateside where models’ hair was twisted from the side right round to the nape of the neck in a simple updo at Carolina Herrera and here at Giles rolled-under hair looked similarly chic (click to see Luke Hersheson create the Giles look in Beauty School). Resident Beauty School expert Luke Hersheshon told us how: ‘Pull hair back in to a ponytail, leaving the front sections loose. Starting with one side, pull the section back, twisting at the same time - make sure you secure the ends of the twists with elastic before pinning the in place. Don’t make it perfect, flyaways and pieces falling out all help to makes the look effortless.’
