For every show that falls into a trend there’s one that doesn’t. This season was no exception as we saw a handful of hair experimentations complete with stylised shapes and unruly textures. At Dior frothy curls exploded from heads then gave way to loose fishtail braids that hung over models shoulders. The curls continued at Charles Anastase where they sat wildly atop heads bouncing as the models walked, and at Roksanda Ilincic where they moved in one foaming, fluffy mass. At Topshop Unique and Vivienne Westwood Red Label hair had a wild, savage quality which hair stylist Peter Gray described as having ‘a soft mesh texture’. Height was key too. At Jeremy Scott ponytails had a cartoonish, 90s Madonna vibe while at Karl Lagerfeld chignons were sculpted into vertical sky high versions.
